Vintage Select at Goodfight
Good fashion, at its core, is not about price or prestige. It’s always been, and always will be, about VALUE. That value is not always quantifiable, but has more to do with why something is meaningful to you—indeed, how much “joy does it spark” or what memories/feelings are attached to the item? Why is something that others might overlook displayed in a place of prestige in your home or on your body? And what pleasure is more fulfilling than the magic of discovery, be it first bite or final reward, runway or back alley shop.
This weekend, we are finally launching vintage at Goodfight with special curation from our friend Ashley Abtahie, something we’ve talked about doing for a long time. Going forward, you’ll be able to find a selection of one-of-a-kind vintage, second-hand designer, and found objects that style seamlessly into Goodfight’s core styles and seasonal collections in a way we’ve always envisioned our pieces to live. The assortment will constantly be changing and replenished, so there will always be new things to discover. You can expect archive pieces like nineties era COMME des GARÇONS, Dries, Agnes B, classic DKNY, Gap, L.L. Bean, etc. as well as non-branded special finds.
Vintage is personally important to us as designers, not only for research (or personal enjoyment!), but to also remind us about a object’s lasting value, especially how it evolves through different owners, and to encourage us to slow down and be more thoughtful about how we dress, shop, and spend money/time in a media-rich culture that is constantly putting new things in front of us. Launching this program also builds on our hope that Goodfight can continue to be a constant place of connection, education, treasure hunting, and curiosity.
